The potion known as Hermodox takes its name from the very poison it neutralizes. In a paradox unique to Astracel, the only cure for Hermodox is the poison itself. When the toxin is heated until it burns intensely, it can be poured directly onto the wound, purging the venom from the body. However, this desperate remedy leaves a lasting mark; a deep, permanent scar burned into the flesh by the cure. Hermodox originates from the Spev, creatures whose entire bodies are infused with this neurotoxic substance. As members of the Wynoniem family, they are not the only species to carry such venom, but they are believed {though not yet confirmed} to be the only ones capable of actively using it as a defensive weapon.

Even storing the substance requires extreme precautions. Each glass vial is crafted using specialized machinery powered by a Tervine Shard, strong enough to contain the toxin while still allowing it to be identified visually. What makes Hermodox particularly infamous is not only its lethality to Eldranes, but also its effectiveness against even the most resilient Estalons. One of its Wynoniem relatives roams the forests, preying upon all forms of life, including rock-based species capable of regeneration. Hermodox is one of the few known toxins powerful enough to kill such beings outright, leaving nothing behind for their bodies to regenerate from.
