Valtorin
Valtorin are cunning and beautiful wolf-like Estalons, scientifically dubbed Lupus Noctis, as they prowl in coordinated packs beneath the cover of night. Their sleek, elongated bodies bear a faint resemblance to reptiles, which initially caused some confusion in classification. However, further study revealed that their behavior and instincts align far more closely with lupine ancestry. The number of Valtorin in a pack appears to correlate with their size; smaller individuals often form larger groups of up to 11 or 12, while exceptionally large specimens are typically found in packs of only 3 or 4. These elusive predators dwell in small caves tucked into hills, making daytime observation nearly impossible. Many have attempted to tame Valtorin, though most efforts have ended in disaster. On rare occasions, however, a successful bond can be formed, resulting in an incredibly loyal guardian capable of fending off even the deadliest threats.
Despite variations in size, data suggests their average height is 1.3 meters, with black fur that gleams brown under sunlight. While taming a Valtorin is no simple feat, it can be achieved with patience, proper technique, and, most importantly, a generous food supply. Valtorin are omnivorous and do not rely solely on meat, though a protein-rich diet enhances their strength and stamina. Packs are led by a dominant Alpha, distinguishable by its larger frame and denser musculature. Taming a single Valtorin is already considered a rare achievement, but those who manage to tame the Alpha effectively gain control over the entire pack. One such case involves a breeder whose controversial genetic modification methods remain under investigation to this day.
