The Khorul were among the first Eldrane species encountered by humankind after their arrival on Astracel. This came as little surprise, as the Khorul are natural scavengers, scattered across the world and rarely remaining in one place for long. When news spread of the fracture point opening within the Soronic Mountains, it was the Khorul who arrived first, eager to establish trade with these new outsiders. Many of the relics and artifacts that helped us piece together Astracel’s history and its connections to other worlds came from Khorul hands, and they continue to be a vital source of such discoveries. Much like Humans, Khorul display a wide range of skin tones, though theirs lean toward greenish and bluish hues. At birth, they are marked not by a few defining features, but by hundreds of pale white spots scattered across their bodies, a trait unique to their species. When hair grows, it remains coarse and compact, never interfering with their ability to explore ruins or hidden structures. Their hands are covered in a rough, calloused exterior ideal for climbing, while their clawed feet provide excellent grip on uneven terrain.
The average male Khorul stands at around 2 meters, with females typically reaching 1.8 meters. Their physiques are built for endurance and survival, perfectly suited to a nomadic lifestyle. While best known as scavengers, many Khorul also sell their services as hunters or assassins when the reward is sufficient. Though generally neutral toward other Eldrane species and maintaining cordial relationships with most, their loyalty can shift depending on value. Gifted with exceptional night vision, Khorul are among the few species capable of working closely with, or even serving, the Elior.
